I guess the reason I'm starting this is pretty simple. I've been backpacking for over 10 years now and a friend of mine, JJ as we call him, has been putting pictures of our trips on Facebook. We could all laugh and point at how silly we looked at times and also marvel at the beautiful places our feet have taken us. He recently suffered a hacking of his Facebook account and was unable to recover it. Therefore, all of our trip photos and comments were lost to the digital ether.
Being a man of a certain age, as our friend Formy likes to say, I wish to put some documentation together of my backpacking journeys before my memories of them fade. I will be putting together trip reports of past trips and future ones as they occur and you are welcome to follow along. I anticipate also posting any other outdoor themed thoughts that might rattle around in my head from time to time. Maybe I will chronicle my journey through hundreds of pieces of assorted gear. We all like gear talk right? 😂
Anyway, here I go and bear with me as I am no writer of any skill at all.
